What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel Coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.

Current information shows that older adults and people with chronic conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease, are at higher risk of getting very sick from this illness.

Watch for Symptoms

Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness for confirmed Coronavirus cases.

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

If you are experiencing these symptoms, contact our office.

*Emergency warning signs include difficulty breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, or bluish lips or face. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately.

Take Precautions

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. We strongly recommend the following:

  • If you have any flu-like symptoms, such as fever, a dry cough and/or shortness of breath, contact us.
  • Take common-sense preventive actions to stop the spread of germs.
  • Practice social distancing (6 feet apart).
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes and then immediately wash your hands.
